PlayStation fans can expect plenty more freebies throughout the year, including some for the company’s most popular game.

Astro Bot has quickly become the poster-boy for PlayStation, even more so after it waltzed out of 2024 with the Game Of The Year award.

Aside from being a solid platformer and taking full advantage of the PlayStation 5 hardware, what set Astro Bot apart from other games it how deep it dived into PlayStation’s history, largely through its roster of characters.

The list of cameo bots in the game has only expanded since its launch with free updates including new levels to play, and fans can likely expect more where that came from in 2025.

Now it’s rumoured that in February PlayStation will hold yet another State Of Play event, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come for the company throughout the year and possibly next year as well.

Many fans are anticipating the reveal of an entirely new galaxy to play through in Astro Bot, complete with more characters to find throughout.

The previous expansions for the game were individual levels, speedrun levels at that which were made to be beaten quickly.

There was an exception over Christmas with a meatier level that brought back some fan-favourite mascots from PlayStation’s history, but it also wasn’t too long of a level.

The next free expansion for Astro Bot could be an entire galaxy though, complete with new levels, secret levels and of course a good boss fight at the end.

Nothing has been said about the game since the Christmas update, but again given the game’s success it's only make sense to keep populating it with new content, all white Team Asobi is hopefully hard at work on a sequel to the game…

If you haven’t played Astro Bot yet it’s highly recommended from just about everybody, so be sure to check it out this year if you have the chance.
