Five free downloads for one of the best PlayStation games in recent memory is on its way, and it’ll be landing very, very soon.

One of the best PlayStation 5 games is about to get even better for the low, low price of free, and you don’t even need a PlayStation Plus subscription to claim it.

As revealed on the official PlayStation Blog by Team Asobi’s Studio Head, Nicolas Doucet, the 2024 PS5 exclusive and Game of the Year winner, Astro Bot, is getting some new content. For free. Again.

“And now, for the fun news! We are delighted to announce yet more additional content landing in Astro Bot this July 10 at 6:00am PT, 2:00pm GMT, 10:00pm JST”, Doucet announced.

“Indeed, 5 brand new levels will make their way into the game as part of the Vicious Void Galaxy, bringing the total number of levels in Astro Bot to a whopping 90+! As with our last update, these 5 levels will require you to pull every bit of skill together to complete so hang on to your DualSense Controller and dive in!”

This marks the fourth time that Team Asobi have released free content packs for Astro Bot, following the five speedrun levels released between October and November 2024, the Winter Wonder Christmas level released in December 2024, as the five levels included in Vicious Void that were released between February and March 2025.

Assumedly, the new levels will work much in the same way, and will be incrementally added over the course of a few months.

It seems there’s a little secret to the final level to be released however, as Doucet stated that “The 5 levels available will be: Twin-Frog Trouble, Suck It Up, Handhold Havoc, High Inflation and… well. You’ll have to play and see.”

I wonder if that means the final level will include some kind of teaser for an upcoming PlayStation game? Here’s hoping it's Marvel’s Wolverine.
