Yesterday saw Sony reveal the brand-new batch of games which are set to be added to the PlayStation Plus library over the upcoming weeks.
With the selection being hit-or-miss over the years, it seems as though August is set to be a giant hit as a whopping 11 games have been added to enjoy at no extra cost.
Not only that but one of the titles just so happens to be Marvel’s Spider-Man.
First released back in 2018, Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man took the world by storm when it launched on the PlayStation 4.

Praised for its effortless traversal mechanics, characterisation, narrative direction, graphics and more, it was not long before sequels followed including 2020’s Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and more recently, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in 2023.
Now the first entry in the series has been added to the PlayStation Plus library for Premium and Extra members.
Available on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the official PS’s blog post for Marvel’s Spider-Man reads as follows:
“Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have teamed up to create an authentic Spider-Man adventure.

This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met or ever seen before. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in Marvel’s New York.
At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rests upon his shoulders.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man will be available to play for free via PlayStation Plus from 19 August onwards so if you are yet to experience this epic superhero adventure, this is finally your sign to get stuck in.
After all, you will then be ready to dive into its sequel, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which our very own Ewan Moore called “an amazing fantasy”.

“It’s hard not to come away from my time with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 grinning from ear-to-ear,” his review reads.
“This is an amazing fantasy come to life and realised like never before. Insomniac Games has crafted yet another heartfelt Spider-Man story bursting with twists, turns, and show-stopping spectacle.”
