God Of War Ragnarök free DLC has a longer campaign than this year's Call Of Duty

God Of War Ragnarök free DLC has a longer campaign than this year's Call Of Duty

God Of War Ragnarök's free Valhalla DLC reportedly has a longer campaign than this year's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

If you tuned into The Game Awards, one of the biggest surprises of the night was undoubtedly the announcement of God of War Ragnarök Valhalla.

While it’s been rumoured for quite some time that a God of War Ragnarök expansion was in the works, I for one certainly didn’t expect its reveal to drop during the show. Typically, PlayStation holds such reveals for their own State of Play events. Still, it was a pleasant surprise. What made the news even better is that we only had to wait mere days for its release AND the DLC is completely free. What a generous festive gift from Santa Monica Studio. Well, God of War Ragnarök Valhalla became available yesterday, and it’s already garnering immense praise from players.

Take a look at God of War Ragnarök Valhalla in action below.

It won’t take you long to find some positive reactions on social media. IGN’s Simon Cardy wrote, “I’ve put three hours into God of War Ragnarök Valhalla already and am still constantly discovering new story moments, locations, and enemy types. This is a much deeper DLC than I was expecting,” while one Twitter user added, “Valhalla DLC is my GOTY 2023”. User mrpyo1 praised the “incredible” story, adding there were “epic moments I didn’t expect”.

I cannot wait to finally dive in tonight. One fact about Valhalla though links back to a controversial joke made by Kratos actor Christopher Judge last week. Whilst presenting at The Game Awards, Judge joked that his 2022 Best Performance speech was longer than this year’s Call of Duty campaign. Big oof. Well, as many players are now pointing out, God of War Ragnarök’s free expansion is also longer than Modern Warfare III’s main campaign … The awkward tension continues.

Valhalla only released yesterday so there’s no HowLongToBeat time yet as completion times continue to trickle in but players appear to have taken between three and six hours to tackle the main meat of the game, but many report that there is well over 10 hours of content if you want to see all that is on offer. In comparison, Modern Warfare III’s main campaign comes in at around three to six hours too, but closer to nine hours for full completion. It’s a tight race.
