God Of War fans divided over next game's setting

Will there be anyone left to kill?

Fans are speculating where the next God of War might take place and to be fair, Kratos might as well globe trot before he runs out of gods to kill.

Developed by Santa Monica Studio, the God of War series began life on the PlayStation 2 in 2005 and quickly became one of Sony’s flagship brands and today, it’s more popular than ever.

Check out the God of War Ragnarök trailer below!

God of War would spawn many sequels as Kratos ran through all the Greek gods like Mr Plow before there was no one left to kill. So, in 2018 (our years) Kratos decided to move to Scandinavia to live a quiet life and even raised a son named Atreus.

However, it wasn't long until trouble came knocking on his door and Kratos, desperate to live out his days peacefully, got into fisticuffs with gods of Norse mythology as he went on to slay them in brutal fashion which no doubt resulted in the gods questioning their life choices.

I’d be surprised if Kratos is quite done with the residents of Scandinavia, so it does make me wonder who’s next on his hit list, something that gamers on Reddit have been discussing.

“Do you think GOW 6 will be in Egypt or what mythology is next?” said a Redditor referring to the game after God of War Ragnarök.

“This may be a hot take but I think this idea of Kratos hopping from realm to realm is kinda cornball. I don't want God of War to turn into Assassin's Creed,” theescapeclause explained.

They continued: “I'm sure Santa Monica Studio is cooking something cool, but if I were in charge I would make some threat to either Greece or the nine realms. Let's see the God of War defend his lands.”

“The favourites are Egypt (which nearly happened) or Japan. I don't believe we will see a Mayan one, Celtics could get sprinkled but it's no duology/trilogy material in my opinion,” said Publicmenace13.

“There are far too many games already set in Egypt and Japan,” replied roguerogueroguerogue. “Take Kratos to the Hindu Pantheon next, they have some kick-ass gods. I want to see Kratos go one-on-one with Shiva or Kali.”

“I want to see Christianism, Kratos vs Jesus!” declared guerrerosaurio1.

It will be interesting to see what happens next in God of War, I just hope that we’re not waiting until next-gen because I want more Kratos ASAP (not that I’m an impatient person or anything).

God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök are out now on PC and PlayStation.
