A brand new “open-world fantasy builder” that merges The Legend of Zelda's art style with the vibes of 2018's God of War will be dropping in early access on PlayStation systems in a mere few days.

Whilst we have heard a few things regarding Towers of Aghasba since it was revealed back in May last year, developers Dreamlit Inc have started dropping way more details regarding the project over the past couple of weeks.

Yesterday they officially revealed the game’s content roadmap, alongside a few extra tidbits regarding its gameplay and its early-access status.

Saiprapanch Adloor, senior game designer at Dreamlit inc, took to the PlayStation Blog to explain why exactly the developer opted to launch the game in early access.

“This project is an ambitious open-world sandbox developed by a small team,” Adloor explained, “with core mechanics intended to let players shape their island however they like.”

Take a look at the game in action below.

According to Adloor, the game is “also one of the first in-development early access titles coming to PS5” and that the decision to release the game in this state is so that the development team can involve the player base in any decisions and changes regarding its future.

“By launching into early access,” they continued, “we can involve our community in the development process, allowing us to better balance, polish, and iterate on these core components. This allows us to introduce new content and features based directly on your feedback.”

However, whilst the game may be exclusive to PS5 and PS4 consoles, the game will be hitting Steam on 19 November too.

The Steam listing for the Towers of Aghasba promises that players can “climb epic mountains and glide across grand valleys in a beautiful open world" as well as "plan and build towns however you'd like, then express yourself with decorations".
