God of War Laufeyâs launch day is fast approaching. It may not feel like it with GTA VI being at the centre of all gaming chatter, but February 16 will be here before you know it.
Itâll be one of PlayStationâs last major releases to be launched both physically and digitally ahead of that all-digital shift from January 2028.
Clearly, however, weâre already seeing early murmurings of PlayStationâs new strategy.
God of War Laufey is getting a collector box which is essentially a collectorâs edition without a game, with consumers needing to buy the game separately.

Thatâs probably the new normal for collectorâs editions in this increasingly digital world, as GTA VI opted for the same model, essentially offering fans a box of merch.
God of War Laufeyâs collector box is pretty cool though, although many gamers are arguing that it should come with a huge spoiler warning.
Worry not, said spoiler isnât featured here. In fact, we wonât actually know the full extent of the spoiler until those collector boxes are shipped.
Essentially, the box includes a light-up Faye statue, a mini artbook, and a 51-card Oracle Deck.
âRealised in intricate detail, the God of War Laufey Collector Box includes a light-up resin statue of Faye, capturing her lethal agility in action,â reads a description.
âChannel your own piece of Everywhen magic with the accompanying 51 card Oracle Deck. Stunning bespoke illustrations adorn each card with meaning inspired by Fayeâs journey.
âDiscover the incredible concept art that shaped the world of God of War Laufey with a Mini Artbook curated by the development team.â
Itâs the Oracle Deck that could prove to be pretty spoilery. It was created in partnership with artist Megan Lara.
The cards inside the Oracle Deck are best avoided if you havenât rolled credits on Laufey
On Instagram, Santa Monica confirmed that the deck features â51 unique illustrations inspired by Faye's journey through the Everywhenâ.
So far, Sekhmet and a Bloodstalker have been unveiled, both of whom feature in the 20-minute gameplay reveal that came alongside God of War Laufeyâs announcement.
Santa Monica isnât yet showing the remainder of the deck as it clearly features spoilers about the gods, allies, and enemies that appear within God of War Laufey.
There is some concern, however, that gamers could accidentally spoil themselves on launch day by perusing the Oracle Deck before actually rolling credits.
âOracle cards may contain spoilers if you open them before finishing the game,â pointed out Reddit user Usual_Environment723.
They warned users to stay away from unboxing videos, with concerns raised that some may post the entirety of the Oracle Deck online on launch day.
The collector box doesnât exactly come with a spoiler warning so allow this to be it. Donât peruse the Oracle Deck on launch day - and donât share it online either, spoiling the experience for others.

If you do want to pick up the God of War Laufey Collector Box, itâs available to pre-order on the PlayStation Store and will set you back ÂŁ129.99 / $149.99.
For those that do enjoy collectorâs editions, itâs a relief to see that weâre at least getting something of this nature sticking around, even if it would be nicer if the game was included.
After Marvelâs Wolverine failed to launch a collectorâs edition, many of us thought PlayStation mightâve phased them out for good.
