Ghost Of Tsushima hailed as 'actual masterpiece' that doesn't get the love it deserves

The PlayStation exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima, is being praised as a masterpiece that many players might overlook in their game library.

When it was released in 2020, Ghost of Tsushima blew fans away with its stunning visuals, expertly crafted combat/stealth, and gripping story, which is being adapted into a film (and maybe a TV show, too). It also boasted a gorgeous open world, which was both fun to explore and a treat to look at. Many gamers consider Tsushima Island to be one of the “most beautiful video game worlds” ever made.

It’s received a lot of endorsement from those who’ve played it, yet it’s always been seemingly overshadowed by other PlayStation exclusives like The Last of Us and Horizon Forbidden West. That’s a shame because for some, it was Game of the Year material, with one fan recently saying the title single-handedly made them “love gaming again”

Reddit user outdoorsnstuffz recently shared their experience with the game, saying: “I went into Ghost of Tsushima blind. It's an actual masterpiece.”

They weren’t alone either, as there were several commenters who agreed it doesn’t get the praise it deserves compared to some of the other AAA experiences the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 offer.

"Definitely one of, if not my favourite game ever," another wrote. "Can’t wait for part two. Definitely one of the best games I’ve ever played," one user commented. "Probably my most enjoyed open-world game. It helped it wasn't bloated with content; had just the right amount not to overstay its welcome or be overwhelming. Everything built into the world and the random encounters with small enemy patrols were fun, especially when you are under-levelled," added another.

Fans are likely counting down the days till Ghost of Tsushima 2, which is apparently on the way, but hasn’t had an official reveal or release date as of yet. Insiders have teased that the game is “pretty much ready”, which means we could get a first-look very soon.

Ghost of Tsushima is currently available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
