We all know that humour can be subjective but there is no denying that this 2024 comedy adventure game is one of the funniest titles to have ever been released.

And now, it’s free to play for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

I am of course talking about Thank Goodness You’re Here!

Developed by Coal Supper and written as a love-letter to the North of England, Thank Goodness You’re Here! was released back in 2024 and managed to see itself bag a 7.7 user score over on Metacritic.

“Thank Goodness You're Here! is an absurd comedy slapformer set in the bizarre Northern English town of Barnsworth,” the official synopsis reads.

“As a traveling salesman, take the time to see the sights and meet the locals, who are very eager to give you a series of increasingly odd jobs…”

With an "Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, Thank Goodness You’re Here! still continues to shine but if you missed out on its original launch, you are in luck.

That is because it is now available to play for free for all PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers.

Coming in at around five hours to play, Thank Goodness You’re Here! can be played in just one sitting and it is guaranteed to offer multiple laughs.

Not only that but our very own Ewan Moore played the hit comedy title back in 2024 and claimed it was the “funniest game I’ve ever played”.

Perfect for those in need of a good laugh

“Fortunately it does look like a game that rewards replayability, not least because it’s so packed with jokes it’s literally impossible to take them all in the first time around,” his review read.

“From the graffiti and shop signs (Price Shaggers is still making me laugh two days after finishing) to running gags involving the town’s residents and their feuds, the laughs come at an almost brutal rate.

“Thank Goodness You’re Here! is light on traditional gameplay and criminally brief, but if Coal Supper’s goal was to make me laugh until my sides hurt for nearly two hours, I’d say mission very much accomplished.”

So if you are on the lookout for a short, albeit incredibly impactful, video game which is beloved by both critics and players alike, you will want to check out Thank Goodness You’re Here! at no extra cost on PlayStation Plus.
