If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can currently get your hands on one of 2023’s most beloved co-op first-person shooters at no extra cost– but only for a limited time.

Are you a fan of words like “tactical”, “intense”, “SWAT” and “realistic co-op FPS”? If you answered yes, then I have a PlayStation Plus freebie with your name on it.

That's because, as spotted by the folks over on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit earlier this week, the intense, tactical, realistic co-op SWAT FPS Ready or Not is now available on PlayStation 5 through PS Plus, but you don’t have long to play it.

Well, I mean that in two different ways. That’s because, firstly, the game is only available until February 20, 2026, which means you already have less than three months to give it a go.

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, you literally don’t have long to play it once you download it. That’s because Ready or Not is only available to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers as a three-hour-long trial, so you'd better go into this one with a game plan.

According to what I can find online, the single-player campaign for the game should take you somewhere around 12 to 16 hours to beat, so I’d be extremely impressed if you manage to get all the way through it during the trial period.

Alternatively, you could just skip the single-player campaign and head straight into some multiplayer co-op fun with a friend or two.

Although I should probably stress that Ready or Not isn’t a competitive FPS, like your Battlefields or your Call of Dutys, so you’re gonna want to strap on a headset and actually communicate with some randoms in a lobby if you want to get the most out of your time.

Whatever you decide to do, your progress will carry over if you end up purchasing the game after the trial runs out, so there really is no wrong answer here.

Personally, I might actually give this one a go. 2023 was an absolutely stacked year for games, and I still haven’t managed to get around to trying out Ready or Not for myself yet.

I’m already getting flashbacks to playing through Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 with some mates in splitscreen back in… oh my god, 2008? That game is already 17 years old?

Nevermind. I’m not sure this old man will be able to keep up with the young folks playing this one online. Why does my back suddenly hurt? And why do I really fancy eating an entire tin of Quality Street?
