Bloodborne is the one PlayStation game we want to see remastered above all others and its success on PlayStation Plus might finally see it happen.
PlayStation fans always keep the tin-foil hats nearby when a new State of Play gets announced as they’re adamant a Bloodborne remaster is being kept from us on purpose.
There was even that infamous PlayStation anniversary trailer that showed Bloodborne gameplay while the words “It’s about perseverance” flashed on the screen.
When you look at some of the latest PlayStation Plus statistics though the game’s remaster seems more plausible than ever, and even Elden Ring had a big part to play.

Sales estimates for a number of PlayStation titles were revealed via Alinea Analytics and Bloodborne was one of them.
It’s said the FromSoftware game has sold a total of nine million copies since launch, though it would have been significantly more if Sony released the game for PC like it has done with so many other PlayStation games.
The playercount for Bloodborne is actually significantly higher though, with around 16 million total players since the game was added to PlayStation Plus Extra.
It was bolstered further with the release of Elden Ring which saw a significant player spike for Bloodborne, likely due to Elden Ring’s accessibility as a soulsborne encouraging players to check out some of FromSoftware’s other games.

Streamers like Kai Cenat have also helped in bringing the game to a wider audience through live-stream events.
Now this doesn’t promise a remaster but surely PlayStation and Sony should look at these figures and see the potential in a remaster, or even just an enhanced PlayStation 5 port.
It would be in good company too, as recently Rockstar Games supplied us with an enhanced port of Red Dead Redemption which has gone down a treat with gamers.
FromSoftware’s Unofficial Bloodborne Sequel
Adding to the long list of reasons why we deserve Bloodborne’s return is FromSoftware’s unofficial sequel, or at least that’s what fans are calling it.

The Duskbloods is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive launching next year and it turned many heads for having an eerily similar aesthetic to Bloodborne.
While it’s obviously a completely different game it’s yet another compelling argument for why PlayStation should once again join forces with the Elden Ring studio and give the gamers what they want.
Perhaps 2026 will be a year Bloodborne fans will always remember, or perhaps it’ll be another 12 months of disappointment, we’ll see.
