Developer FromSoftware really is one of gaming's great success stories, releasing great game after great game with seemingly no shortage to its endless well of ideas and fun gameplay loops.
From the original Dark Souls all the way through to epic RPG experiences like Elden Ring, the studio found its formula and continually evolved within it to keep producing stellar games for us lucky fans to play.
As such, any new project is bound to generate a lot of interest, and upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods is no exception, seemingly bringing plenty for longtime fans to look forward to, even those who lament the never realised Bloodborne sequel.
The Duskbloods Should Delight Bloodborne Fans

Aside from having blood in the title, there are plenty of reasons to think that The Duskbloods could hit all the same notes as the beloved 2015 release, and now leaks are emerging that further that line of thinking.

A "reliable leak" shared by Ziostrom on YouTube seemingly confirms that the upcoming release is the most ambitious project the developer has ever undertaken, where they have supposedly spent "the longest time purely on gameplay prototyping and validation among all of their games so far".
The new IP also gives them the chance to experiment with things, and the leaker went on to say that the game introduces "many innovative elements," which likely shows that it's here where they have decided to swing for the proverbial fences.
Bloodborne fans should get excited because this PvEvP experience has a similar overall vibe, gloomy mood and, with the same developer at the helm, likely comparable facets in the gameplay.
The sequel is seemingly never going to happen, so in lieu of that, this is likely the best you're ever going to get (unless they decide to really blow the roof off the theatre at this year's Game Awards).
Now, the obvious elephant in the room is that The Duskbloods is going to be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, though the exact reasoning for that is unclear, beyond the obvious financial considerations.
That move has proved controversial with many existing fans, particularly as it marks a move away from the PlayStation exclusives that the developer so often went with in the past.
We don't have an exact release date for the game just yet, with 2026 as much as we're able to narrow it down at this point.
