‘Skyrim: Everdamned’ is a free fan expansion that gives the vampirism of the Bethesda fantasy RPG a much-needed overhaul, and it’s available to download now.

When it comes to iconic video games of any era, it doesn't get much bigger than Bethesda’s fantasy RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It’s without question the publisher's biggest cash cow, which is why it's been released on every console generation since 2011.

Originally released on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, this beloved entry in The Elder Scrolls series has been ported so many times that it’s not only become somewhat of a meme but even Bethesda mocked its most recent release on the Nintendo Switch 2. Though, to be fair to Bethesda, there is a free upgrade available.

That being said, if people stopped buying Skyrim, over and over again, then Bethesda has no reason to stop. So you, yes, you! You’re to blame! But who am I kidding? It’s an awesome game, and I’m no one to judge, because I’m pretty sure I’ve purchased it at least four times.

Despite showing its age, Skyrim is still a fun game to play and other than being a fantastic RPG, one of the reasons it has remained so much fun over the years is thanks to its ever-vibrant modding community.

Skyrim Does Not Suck!

Whether it's new story missions, areas, visual and performance improvements or bug fixes, there’s a good chance that talented Skyrim modders have you covered.

One mod that breathes new life into the game, or more accurately, sucks the life out of it (in a good way), is ‘Everdamned - a new generation Vampirism overhaul’, created by KaminaDrill, and it’s free to download now via Nexusmods.

What’s more, this mod is inspired by one of my favourite old-school RPGs of all time, the buggy but fun Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, which was originally released on PC in 2004.

“Everdamned is a lore-friendly feature with a full vampirism overhaul. It gives more novel ways to live out the curse without making it overbearing,” reads its description. “It features a new dedicated vampirism skill tree, blood as a resource, meaningful roleplay opportunities, robust combat draining with new animations and much more.”

Sadly, unlike some mods being compatible on the PlayStation and Xbox versions of Skyrim, this particular mod is a PC exclusive.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on just about every platform available. It’s also included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription at no extra cost, as well as currently included with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.
