A very helpful Red Dead Redemption 2 player adds a long-overdue feature.
Released in 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the greatest video games of all time, as reflected by its near-perfect score of 97 on the aggregate website, Metacritic, more than earning its “Must-Play” accolade.
Some could fairly argue that Red Dead Redemption 2 is better than any of the Grand Theft Auto games from Rockstar Games, perhaps even GTA IV, which is the highest-rated game in the series.
“America, 1899. Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde Gang are outlaws on the run,” reads the synopsis of the game that is a prequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption.

“With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal, and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.”
There’s so much to love about Red Dead Redemption 2 with its fun Wild West combat, its stunning open-world, its memorable side-activities and NPCs. In my opinion, this game is about as perfect as it gets.
Even to this day, there aren’t many games better than Red Dead Redemption 2, whether it's the gorgeous visuals or how an immersive open-world should be created and enjoyed by the player. That being said, being a near-perfect game, there is always some room for improvement.

A Simple But Helpful Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod
One feature that could improve Red Dead Redemption 2 is when setting a waypoint, knowing how far its distance is would be helpful. If that piques your interest, then modder Virumaandi has you covered.
The mod in question is on the nose ‘Waypoint Distance’, and it does exactly what you’d expect, and it's free to download now via Nexusmods. It should be pointed out that, like every Red Dead Redemption 2 mod, this is a PC exclusive.
I would always say that the best way to explore Red Dead Redemption 2 is to remove the mini-map and go where your instincts take you. Sure, it will take you longer to get from point A to point B, but it’s one of the most immersive ways to experience this game, in my opinion.
However, if you’re a PC gamer who prefers to use the default minimap and waypoints, then you might as well make use of this mod.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
