Red Dead Redemption 2 gets super ambitious map expansion you can download now

Shape the world before you

Have you ever found the Red Dead Redemption 2 map lacking, or at the very least, restrictive in some way?

Other fans have had similar gripes about Rockstar Games’ acclaimed title.

Although the map doesn’t exactly impede enjoyment of Red Dead Redemption 2, it can make navigation tricky at times.

One modder has attempted to change this with one of the most ambitious map expansions we’ve seen to date.

You’re not just aiding Arthur now; you can shape the very world around you, like a rugged cowboy god.

What epic wins and fails will you create to join these famous Red Dead Redemption 2 bloopers below?

If this mod looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s a re-upload of a previous NexusMods download. As explained on its page by MattioskyDL17, “Reupload because the original was deleted.”

‘Map Editor RDR2’ is designed to “customise the world of RDR2 to your liking”, which is worrying considering that some fans take things a little too far.

Need we remind you of the one “trick” discovered by players we wish we could unsee? Honestly, it haunts us every time we close our eyes...

Also be warned that this map editor could end up giving your PC a “workout”, as explained on Reddit. Especially when creating and/or exploring maps like the custom made Mistgrove.

The tutorial for using the mod is extremely scarce, or rather, nonexistent. Nonetheless, while you’ll have to learn on the job, so to speak, at least you can head to Reddit to look for tips from other users.

This map expansion is also free to download and use, should you need yet more reasons to get back on the horse and ride into RDR2.

Just understand that you might learn about some things you can’t take back – like a horrifying crime committed by the beloved Arthur many of us missed.

Bend RDR2 to your will with ‘Map Editor RDR2’ on NexusMods.
