Footage has surfaced on YouTube showing how The Lord of the Rings: Conquest would look if it was fully remade using Unreal Engine 5.

Of course, it looks stunning in the 40-minute trailer, and while it’s only a fan made project, it makes us wish this was official and could see the light of day.

Lord of the Rings will be back in cinemas very soon with an anime adaptation

Showcasing several landscapes, NPC interactions, and brooding hallways, the footage has us pining for a remaster of this classic game.

While we could spend hours on the demo of this, I fear we’d lose so much time just exploring this gorgeous recreation.

Fans are, understandably, hyped to see this footage.

Many of them played the game the first time round and fell in love with it, so seeing it reimagined is a blessing.

“This is amazing, I hope this becomes real,” says one fan in the comments of the video.

Another user exclaims, “I am amazed! I would pay good money for a full game like this I am extremely impressed!”

These Unreal Engine 5 demos are a curse sometimes, making us want for something that may never see the light of day.

At one point, there was supposed to be a remaster of The Lord of the Rings: Conquest, but word has fallen silent on that in recent years.

There are several fans discussing how much they’d love to see these older games based on The Lord of the Rings get a new lease of life.

As an IP, the Tolkien classics rarely get visited by game developers nowadays, but it would be nice to see something new, especially with technology like this powering it.

Perhaps, as we start to hear word on the new film from Andy Serkis, we might get something teased.

Fans of Conquest will have to cross their fingers and pray for aid.
