Thanks to Digital Dreams, players have the chance to see The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of Mordor with a collection of mods running to bring the game up to new-gen standards.

Fans of The Lord of the Rings have been avidly watching the latest YouTube video from Digital Dreams, who is running the classic and beloved game, fully loaded with mods.

The video showcases over 200 presets, along with plenty of mods, in order to revamp the visuals and bring it to a ‘new-gen’ standard.

Of course, this is all running on a beast of a PC, featuring a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, along with 64GB RAM, and the powerful NVIDIA RTX 5090 FE.

The visual upgrade is undeniable, and seeing it running in 4K is a dream come true, even if it’s probably unattainable for the majority of players.

Plenty of fans are watching in awe and commenting on how gorgeous it looks in motion.

“The gameplay system in this game was peak, and it looks incredible!!” said one viewer.

Shadow of Mordor is a game that the community has wanted to see officially remastered for years, and while this doesn’t bring us much closer, it’s great to see what it could look like, even with just a passing upgrade.

Easily one of the best attempts at capturing Middle-Earth in video games, Shadow of Mordor earned itself a very respectable score of 87 out of 100 over on Metacritic.

Sadly, Warner Bros. Games hasn’t touched on the franchise for some time, and recent financial changes within the company don’t point to them coming back to the series any time soon.

Thankfully, this game, and its sequel, Shadow of War, are still playable on modern hardware, so if you want to venture into Middle-Earth and experience the amazing Nemesis system, you can dive in right now.
