Lord Of the Rings photorealistic Unreal Engine 5 teaser leaves fans stunned

Excuse us while we pick our jaws up off the floor

The Lord of the Rings is already such a beautiful tale, but this photorealistic rendition of it has left us speechless.

Even if you’re not a Lord of the Rings fan, you must agree that this re-imagining is stunning.

We know it’s only been a matter of days since we said that a 2006 LOTR classic was “truly stunning”, but that’s because it scratches that nostalgia itch.

This Unreal Engine 5 teaser hits differently.

We're blinded by how gorgeous this Unreal Engine 5 teaser is

Made in just six days, this creation has garnered a lot of interest on YouTube.

YouTuber micah64 is the creative behind this impressive showcase, inspired by the prompt, “What if the Fellowship of the Ring was a first-person adventure game?"

“I wanted to do a concept of the player floating down the river looking at the Argonath pass by,” micah64 explains.

Seeing what could be if a AAA developer took on the job has us desperate for this teaser to transition into a full game.

And we’re not alone in wanting that; plenty of other YouTube users are just as keen as we are to see the LOTR brought to life like this.

“That's looks incredible! You've captured the atmosphere to perfection,” remarked @andrejedidaniels.

This is just one of many comments.

“Insanely good,” said another.

There are a few suggestions posted to help improve what’s already been created; however, for a six-day build, we’d say micah64 has done a stellar job.

Of course, not everyone wants to see this epic adventure in such crystal clarity.

In fact, some of us prefer the idea of Stardew Valley for Hobbits, which is exactly what Tales of the Shire promises to deliver.

Better still, that’s a full game, whereas this Unreal Engine creation is but a teaser of could be.

Maybe one day we’ll get a photorealistic LOTR title just like this.

We can but hope.
