With the recent news that both an extended version of Hogwarts Legacy and a sequel are on the way, fans are finding ways to pass the time and this free download is the perfect way to do so.

Earlier this month saw Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. reveal that it was hard on work on developing the highly-anticipated Hogwarts Legacy 2 as well as working on an expansion for 2023’s Hogwarts Legacy.

Despite heaps of content on the horizon, creators are still working hard on the RPG by adding new and unique ways to breathe life into Hogwarts and its surrounding magical areas.

That is definitely the case for Night Curfew, a free-to-download mod for Hogwarts Legacy.

Created by nathdev over on CurseForge, Night Curfew will make prefects able to patrol the halls at night in order to make sure that no students are up to mischief.

“Night curfew will make prefects look for the player in between the curfew hours (0am to 6am) inside Hogwarts,” the description reads.

“If you are caught, the player will be sent back to his common room and will pay a 100 knuts penalty.

With a large majority of exploration needing to take place at night, this will make things a whole lot more difficult and give the player something else to worry about (especially if the prefect is anything like Percy Weasley).

The mod will add eight custom prefects who will patrol the castle and messages will be shown to warn the player about their curfew status.

Luckily, prefects will appear on the mini-map and the player will not have to pay the 100 knuts penalty if they have less than 1000 knuts on their person.

However, you also have magic at your disposal and casting the Disillusionment spell will make you undetectable or you could even cast a spell at a nearby wall or floor to make the prefect look the other way as you sneak past.

With plans to update Night Curfew in the future, this free mod is not one to miss out on if you wish to add a brand-new element to your Hogwarts Legacy gameplay.
