Halo Reach campaign revived in stunning fan overhaul you can play now

One of the best Halo games looking even better

One of the best Halo games ever made is better than ever thanks to a PC overhaul mod, you need to try it.

While my all-time favourite will forever be Halo 3, I can’t lie and say Halo Reach didn’t have a profound impact on me, after all it was the third Halo game I played, the first being Halo 3 and the second being Halo Wars.

Halo Reach told an impressive story of finding hope in a hopeless situation, as the majority of players knew how the game would end before even booting it up for the first time.

Its campaign is phenomenal, and a new overhaul mod for PC users make it more replayable than ever.

You can find it on NexusMods under the name Halo Reach Mythic Overhaul (Campaign) which revitalises the game for more advanced hardware.

For an Xbox 360 game from 2010 it still holds up, the overhaul mod just tweaks and changes a few things for a new experience.

In the mod’s description it’s stated that it includes “everything from new additions and tweaks to the existing sandbox, new damage types, ammo drops for enemies, new hud, and various AI tweaks.”

You can see the full list of changes further down on the mod page, though rest-assured its a comprehensive overhaul, no stone has been left unturned.

Whether you’re a long-time fan of Halo or are yet to give the series a go and fancy starting with the prequel, this Mythic mod is well-worth a go.

As for the future of Halo, it’s unclear what Xbox has planned for the series, though I’d be happy to see a few more spin-off titles like Halo Reach that don’t focus on the Master Chief and his adventures.
