A few months ahead of the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, fans can now get in the mood with a new set of free missions for GTA: Vice City.
With Rockstar set to return to one of the GTA franchise’s most famous locations later this year, fans of the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City can now download a free mission pack for the game which introduces new story content.
Vice City: New Legacy is a fan-made DLC by modder Rohansrinivasan123 which features 25 new original story missions added to the 2002 game.
These missions range in activities from gang wars to daring heists, intense shootouts to cinematic action. You explore the familiar streets of Vice City with a fresh perspective, with these added missions featuring new characters and alternative storylines.

These new levels boast custom cutscenes with their own mission briefings, and the objectives are varied so the pacing doesn’t feel too slow or boring.
Vice City: New Legacy is built using Sanny Builder and CLEO, a set of modding tools which allow for creating custom missions in the 3D-era GTA games.
Rohansrinivasan123 has stated that their intention is for the mod to add fresh gameplay while also staying true to the classic Vice City experience.
If you’d like to download Vice City New Legacy for yourself, you can download it from the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nexus Mods page.
It’s worth noting that this mod is for the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and won’t be available for the Definitive Edition version that was released a few years ago. So, make sure you have the right version of the game installed before you try adding New Legacy.

Meanwhile, Rockstar Games is gearing up for the release of Grand Theft Auto VI later this year, which will feature the return of Vice City for the first time since 2006, and also the first time the city is featured in the HD universe of the series.
The upcoming game features dual protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, in a story that occurs across the entirety of Leonida State, based on real-life Florida.
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI went live last month, where the game is available to pre-purchase in two editions: the Standard Edition (£69.99 / $79.99) and the Ultimate Edition (£89.99 / $99.99).
The game became the subject of controversy after it was learned that boxed copies will not feature a disc, and instead only a digital code to redeem on your platform of choice.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with pre-loads beginning on November 12.
