GTA: San Andreas Unreal Engine 5 remake is so beautiful I could weep

GTA: San Andreas Unreal Engine 5 remake is so beautiful I could weep

An Unreal Engine 5 remake of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is absolutely stunning.

An Unreal Engine 5 remake of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is absolutely stunning, and exactly what the remastered trilogy should have looked like.

While waiting for GTA VI, you may be inclined to play some of the older Grand Theft Auto titles to gear up for the new release. You’d be spot on to play GTA: Vice City, especially since GTA VI will bring players back to the now iconic location, though you’d be a fool to not play GTA: San Andreas as well.

Check out the official first trailer for GTA VI below

That being said if you’ve got a PC and the power of mods you can play the definitive version of the game, and no we don’t mean the version included in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, which was god-awful and made a complete mockery of a beloved trilogy of games. No, we mean this version, made with Unreal Engine 5 and complete with RTX and a number of other graphical improvements that completely transform the game to the quality of a new-gen release.

While the gameplay hasn’t been touched, and for good reason since it’s just as fun now as it was in 2004, the graphics have been completely overhauled to the point they look almost as good as Grand Theft Auto V.

The clear blue skies, radiant sun, and colourful Los Santos buildings all look jaw-droppingly good, with CJ and his friends looking better than ever thanks to the fresh coat of paint.

Unfortunately the version of the game shown isn’t available as its own download, but you can get pretty close by using similar mods to source up the visuals.

Rockstar Games should take notes, this is how you remaster GTA: San Andreas, and other games in the series, the right way.
