There’s not a lot wrong with GTA V, but that hasn’t stopped fans from creating news missions to sink more hours into. If you’ve been hoping for an excuse to erratically drive around the streets once more, this new single-player mission is that excuse.

‘Gang Wars’ is a fan-made expansion that adds a dramatic gang story into the chaotic narrative mix that is GTA V. “This is the Gang Wars Story for GTA V. This mod includes bloody gang wars, drugs and arms trafficking. All missions add cutscenes. Missions are delivered via a text from an employer (Lamar) and can be replayed via the Installed Missions menu,” reads its brief but compelling description.

Seeing as we're feeling that GTA V love again, how about you check out the funniest wins and fails from the game

Since its creation, fans have given the download a “10/10” rating, as well as hailing it a “great mod” that’s a “blast” to play. Of course, this isn’t the only GTA mod out there that can breathe new life into the game while we wait (and wait) for GTA VI – there’s also an expansion that goes full Prison Break that's also not to be missed.

If you’re more concerned with the current state of the next Rockstar outing, leaked heist gameplay has left fans stunned. As thrilling as it is to know that there’s footage out there that’s meeting our high expectations, it’s a shame that early development footage is being leaked; it ruins some of the mystic that Rockstar has lovingly created surrounding GTA VI.

Life on the streets isn’t easy, yet it keeps pulling us back in. You can start another vanilla playthrough of GTA V now that we’re less panicked about GTA VI, or you can go deeper into the world of violence via the wonderful mayhem of community-made mods.

‘Gang Wars’ is available on 5mods right now, totally free of charge.
