Sorry, GTA VI, as much as I’m dying to meet you – heck, just see a small snippet – I’m all about this GTA IV remake. It’s simply sublime. The level of detail that’s gone into it is giving Rockstar Games a run for its money, and showing fans what could be if GTA VI fails; we can always return to the old ways, to Niko’s time.

Perhaps returning to classic GTA is the way to go. After all, it would seem that GTA VI will include the iconic trucking missions from San Andreas. Not sure if we’re all mentally prepared enough for that, but regardless, it shows that Rockstar is taking inspiration from the past to create the new.

Check out this amazing GTA: San Andreas remaster while you're here!

Despite GTA IV being a classic, having turned 15 years old this year, it looks far from dated in this fan-made concept remaster. The talented creator behind this is YouTuber 12th Hour, known to the GTA fandom for their incredible GTA concepts – as they say in their video intro, “It’s no secret, I’m trying to get hired by Rockstar”. They then ‘joke’ that “if this don’t get me hired” they’ll quit making concepts, which would be a massive blow to the fandom; Rockstar is letting us down, so we need people like this to fill the void GTA VI has created.

But don’t just rely on us telling you this remake is ridiculously awesome, let the numerous fan comments tell you as well. “Dude... You're an artist. Never let anyone take that joy from you. You deserve all the recognition and money in the world. Congratulations,” said @DIEGOGUERRA3S. Another post told 12th Hour, “Don't wait to get hired by Rockstar”, before encouraging them to build their own team because they’re “insanely good” at what they do.

If GTA VI isn’t gracing us with its presence until Spring 2025, and the likelihood of a sequel to VI is going to take “decades”, we need talent like 12th Hour to help us through the dark days. Without them, we’re nothing but disgruntled gamers screaming into the void, otherwise known as Twitter (I refuse to call it X, it’s a terrible name).
