An upcoming FPS game that blends Dino Crisis with Far Cry has just set a December release date, and we can’t wait to see more.

Ferocious from developer OMYOG has gone viral on social media in the past for trailers demonstrating its cutting edge visuals and explosive FPS action.

It combines the dino-haunting aspects of Dino Crisis with the open-world shenanigans of Far Cry, all neatly wrapped up in a survival horror package.

Given the subject matter, Ferocious is also obviously heavily inspired by the likes of Jurassic Park and King Kong, particularly with regards to the survival horror elements.

tinyBuild has now announced that Ferocious will be released on 4 December 2025, meaning you won’t have to wait much longer to sink your teeth into this.

In Ferocious, you wake up on a mysterious island after being shipwrecked, and quickly discover that the island is inhabited by mercenaries, dinosaurs, and other apex predators.

You must then fight to survive by exploring, adapting, and using the island’s dangers to your advantage. You get access to various weapons and tools which will greatly help with meeting these various challenges, and will need to use everything at your disposal to get out safely.

Ferocious places a rather large emphasis on player freedom to suit your playstyle. You can craft weapons and gear from resources you find while exploring, tailoring your loadout to the right approach. It should mean giving you multiple options depending on the situation.

One really cool feature of Ferocious is the game allowing you to control dinosaurs using the Dino Control Device. This will allow you to give commands to dinosaurs and have them do things you’re incapable of doing.

Altogether, it does look like a great game for Far Cry and Dino Crisis fans to check out. Especially with the open-world freedom on display here, it should be one that you’ll be able to find a lot of joy in exploring.

Ferocious is Only Planned For PC at the Moment

Ferocious appears to only be planned for a PC release at the moment, with console editions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S seemingly not confirmed yet.

However, it seems like this is purely a time and budget thing, and Ferocious could likely get console releases later down the line following its Steam launch.

For now though, keep an eye out for Ferocious when it hits Steam on 4 December, 2025.
