Far Cry, Dino Crisis Collide In Stunning New FPS

Eggscellent!

Far Cry meets Dino Crisis in this stunning new FPS that brings the horror, and we can't wait to sink our teeth into it.

At this point, I’ve become pretty much numb with my hopes that Capcom will one day release a new Dino Crisis game, but I still have that small glimmer of hope that refuses to die.

A game perhaps somewhat inspired by the original Jurassic Park novel and movie, dinosaurs run rampant on a remote island, causing all sorts of mayhem in the first Dino Crisis which released on PlayStation in 1999.

Then, of course, we have the Capcom element with a heavy dose of Resident Evil goodness, giving Dino Crisis the moniker of being dubbed “RE with dinosaurs”, a winning formula for sure.

Sadly, the last game we had in this series was Dino Crisis 3 in 2003, a game so bad that it’s been wiped from most of our memories. Sorry if I’ve just triggered a buried memory of that abomination.

Then we have Ubisoft’s Far Cry series, which is taking somewhat of a long sabbatical of its own, albeit not one that has lasted over two decades.

2021’s Far Cry 6 is the last game in this long-running series, and that’s more than long enough for fans to feel desperate for its return.

So, what do we do while we wait for a new Dino Crisis or Far Cry game? Well, the answer may be a new upcoming co-op FPS called Eggspedition (yes, it’s really called that). The game is developed and published by Wildflame Studio.

“Enter the Eggspedition - a terrifying survival horror with dinosaurs! Play solo or team up with up to four players to explore unknown planets, abandoned facilities, complete missions, and make daring extractions. It’s inhabited by… dinosaurs. Furious, massive, and very much alive,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.

The reveal trailer, which has a blend of cinematics and snippets of gameplay, looks like it could be an absolute blast to play, especially with friends.

That being said, we won't know for sure how good Eggspedition is until it's released, which could be sooner than you might expect. According to its Steam page, Eggspedition is currently intended to be released at some point this year.

Of course, release date delays are often inevitable, and there’s a good chance that Eggspedition will be no exception. At the time of writing, Eggspedition is listed as coming to PC only, but hopefully, that might change. We'll keep you posted when its release date drops.
