Fallout 4 has a secret area you can only find on PC

The devs clearly thought hiding all this stuff here was super funny

Hidden within the recesses of Fallout 4 lies a very odd little secret, one that Bethesda made sure players could never find… unless, of course, you play the game on PC.

So, this article is going to be a bit of a two-for-one kind of deal, because one thread over on the r/fo4 subreddit has so many interesting secrets that I think they’re also worth showcasing.

Ok, let’s start with the one you’re here for: a weird hidden island off the shore of Salem.

As the poster of the thread notes, just off the shoreline lies a little island that players on console can’t visit.

And there’s… not really anything there. You can clip out of the map and visit it, sure, but you won’t find much beyond what you can actually see without doing so.

However, a commenter in that same thread noted that there is a pretty neat hidden secret off the shore of Far Harbor, hidden out of bounds; a full set of T-51 Power Armor.

That’s cool, sure, but then I found another comment that detailed something properly interesting.

As user Just_Inspired notes, there’s a hidden Test Cell in the Far Harbor DLC that can only be warped to using console commands: “Clara Land”.

This place was clearly used to, if it wasn’t already apparent, test some stuff– but it seems that the devs had a lot of fun messing around in the process.

It’s actually a weirdly creepy area to just wander around in due to the intentionally unfinished, cobbled-together nature of it.

It does, however, feature references to the films Fantasia and Zodiac, as well as the children’s book The Mouse and the Motorcycle, for… some reason?

Also, while the Fallout Wikia states that the Molerat on a motorbike is a reference to The Mouse and the Motorcycle, I think the fact that they stuck the hat on him also makes it a reference to the Marlon Brando film The Wild One, right?

Must have been a fun day in the office for the Bethesda devs.
