Epic Games Store Drops 2 Free Titles To Play Over the Weekend, for a Limited-Time

Almost forgot Epic Games gives away free games for a second there

There are currently two free games you can download and keep forever through Steam, but only for a limited tim– oh, whoops, did I say “Steam”? I meant the Epic Games store. Sorry, force of habit.

That’s right folks! The Epic Games storefront! Remember this one? I don’t think I’ve logged into my Epic Games account for months. Honestly I kinda just forgot it existed.

Then again, I don’t play Fortnite, or any of the other well-known Epic Games store exclusive titles such as… anyway, onto the free games!

As always, thank you in advance to the Free Steam Games Twitter account for finding these. Apologies if this is starting to get confusing but, that Twitter account is called “Free Steam Games”, but the games are on the Epic Games storefront. Starting to regret the silly joke in the opening now.

First up, you've got Make Way by developer Ice BEAM and publisher Secret Mode.

This one is a multiplayer racing game, but with a cute little twist. Basically at the start of each race (and in between rounds), you'll get to build a race course. The goal here is to either make the dumbest thing possible (in an attempt to annoy your friends) or build a course that you think you'd be confident in tackling.

Also, it has incredible reviews. Make Way is currently sitting at a 4.9 out of 5 on the Epic Games storefront, which honestly might be the most impressive score I’ve ever seen on there.

And finally, there's Machinarium by developer and publisher Amanita Design.

It has been a hot minute since I played this game, because it dropped back in 2009. That being said, I absolutely loved it back then, and I can't imagine much has changed in the meantime.

Machinarium is a point and click title– hey, get back here, I swear it’s good. It’s got some of the most beautiful 2D background I’ve ever laid my eyes on, and an oddly brilliant soundtrack. You should however be warned that it’s a pretty short experience that'll probably only take you about 4-ish hours to complete, but I'm always more of a quality over quantity type of guy.

And that’s all you’re getting for now! Just make sure you redeem these before September 4, because they will no longer be free past that point.

Check back here around about the same next month to see what else is on offer through the Epic Store (if I don’t forget that it exists again).
