Bloodborne PC Remaster Is A Jaw-Dropping Sight To Behold

Yharnam just got prettier

Bloodborne’s PC version is coming along nicely, as new patches and updates are being made to the community-run project.

Much to the Bloodborne community’s dismay, there has never been an official PC port of the game, meaning the dream of playing it in 4K and 60FPS remains just that—a dream.

Thanks to the wonders of modern technology though, Bloodborne has technically been playable on PC thanks to certain software shenanigans making it possible.

Soulsborne modder Fromsoftserve has posted about their “PC Remaster Project”, recommending it to any players who have the means to be able to mod the game.

The mod enables a few graphical features that weren’t possible on PS4 due to hardware limitations, that now take advantage of powerful PCs to make the game look gorgeous.

This is also on top of the increased framerates and resolutions that playing Bloodborne on PC can bring.

“I barely ever mention it, but I did put months of work into my PC Remaster mod for Bloodborne and I'd recommend it,” Fromsoftserve writes on X (formerly Twitter). “It adds dynamic shadows for the whole game, just like Sekiro/ER, upscales the textures, adds parallax occlusion mapping, lots of gparam edits, disables the in-game FXAA and has a reshade preset for TAA + sharpening.”

We really need to stress that not every player will be able to do this. For starters, you’ll need a really beefy PC to get it to run properly. Even the most modern machines from the past couple of years may struggle to get it loading.

We can’t tell you how to do this, but you’ll also need a legal copy of Bloodborne and the means to be able to rip the contents of the disc onto your computer. That way, you’ll be able to run the game using a PS4 emulator.

Still, hopefully Sony pulls its head out of the ground soon and decides to remaster Bloodborne for PS5 and PC. It’s a shame the game is still trapped in PS4 jail, with lower framerates and resolutions that makes the experience quite janky.
