Fancy discovering the next hit indie game?

You’ll want to head on over to the ongoing Steam Next Fest which is set to end on 2 March.

There are still several days left, so I’d urge you to venture over to the PC storefront and sample a few of the hundreds of demos on offer before it’s too late.

Truthfully, there’s a little bit of something for everyone.

Personally, I’m having a delightful time unearthing cosy games, and there’s one I’d like to direct your attention towards today.

Developer VoodooDuck has launched a free demo for upcoming farming adventure Collector’s Cove ahead of its launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on 12 March.

I should stress that the demo is exclusively available on Steam.

Collector’s Cove is a farming game with a difference. Here, you’re not tending to your average farmstead.

The game is actually set aboard a ship as players look after a floating farm, explore various islands, and collect crops and fish from across the high seas.

“Grow a flourishing floating farm. Cultivate rare crops and reel in elusive fish. Discover new islands and climate zones, each with its own collection of unique local flora,” the synopsis reads.

“Fill in your Collector’s Compendium. Craft items and personalise your ship, transforming it into your own home. Learn how to gather enough rare crops and fish; you might even rise to the ultimate rank: Named-Collector!”

As you can see, there’s plenty to be getting on with within Collector’s Cove.

All Progress Carries Over Into The Full Game Release

The game has a 3D animated aesthetic that should most definitely appeal to fans of Animal Crossing.

The demo is only available until 2 March, so I’d urge you to give it a go as soon as possible to avoid the disappointment of missing out.

Any progress you make will carry over if you pick up the full game.

The demo provides players with access to the first seven in-game days, so you can get to grips with farming, fishing, and more.

Collector’s Cove also reportedly runs very well on Steam Deck which is handy to know.

It’s far from the only cosy offering available in Steam Next Fest.

Romestead has launched a demo. This one’s a city-building RPG set within Ancient Rome with the aesthetics of Stardew Valley.

There’s also The Witch’s Bakery which shares a kinship with the Studio Ghibli film Kiki’s Delivery Service.

Or perhaps Witchspire might be for you? This is a survival-crafting adventure where you assume the role of a witch on a sprawling island filled with adorable creatures you can battle and capture.

Steam Next Fest always delivers the goods.
