Animal Crossing: New Horizons does, of course, have a multiplayer offering of sorts with players able to visit one another’s islands.
Huglings, however, is a cosy adventure experience designed totally with multiplayer in mind, developed by Cuddlecados with Papucs Games handling publishing duties.
While you can play Huglings solo, this delightful new PC offering supports up to four-players as you help the titular huglings restore their village.
As for what happened to the village, it was destroyed by goblins with Huglings boasting a fantasy element within its formula.

Players will farm, craft and decorate a humble abode amid helping the huglings, with the game describing itself as “a heartwarming journey of friendship and helpfulness”.
“Spend your days crafting cosy furniture, farming under warm skies, fishing by quiet waters, and decorating your dream house with love,” the synopsis reads.
“Meet charming villagers, share small moments, and build bridges between the two tribes.
“With no pressure and no wrong way to play, Huglings is a calm, comforting adventure where friendship grows, creativity blooms, and every peaceful moment is worth savoring.”
The game’s world looks a delight to explore as players travel through lush forests, cross peaceful lakes, and delve deeper into hidden caves via candlelight.

The world is impressively large and hand-crafted, so you’re not looking at any procedurally generated assets here.
When it comes to decorating your house, you can fully decorate your yard too with decorating, in fact, remiding me of what you might expect in The Sims, albeit a more basic take on that formula.
Players can customise their hugling, with an array of hairstyles, outfits, and accessories to choose from.
It’s not the most in-depth character creator I’ve ever seen, but there are enough options that you should be able to find something to your liking.
You can also, and this might be my favourite feature, select a companion who will follow you throughout the game’s world.
You can choose from a cat, a duck, and a pig judging by gameplay clips with the game likely including other adorable options.
Those goblins I mentioned that trashed the huglings’ village? They’re still present within the game.
Visiting the goblin village will allow you to pick up some important supplies and crafting goods, but you’ll need to avoid the tricks the goblins attempt to play on you.
Huglings is currently confirmed to release on PC storefront Steam although an exact launch date hasn’t yet been pinned down.
You can enjoy a free sample of the game already with a demo having been released.
It’s early days for the demo but one player wrote, “Just started playing the Huglings demo and I’m already enjoying it a lot. The new controls feel really good and make the game much easier and smoother to play. The cosy atmosphere and cute art style also make it really easy to get into.”
They continued, “I’ve only just begun the demo, but I’m already excited to play through the rest of it,” having accrued an hour of play time.
The game remains deep in development so devs note that this isn’t the final quality players should expect.
Still, it’s a nice way to get an early taster.
