Nintendo has given The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom a rare limited-time discount.
Nintendo is often known for its reluctance to reduce its games in price, which is how games from nearly a decade ago are still being sold at their full retail price.
But from time to time, Nintendo does occasionally drop a limited-time discount which allows you to pick up its games at cheaper prices.
While we wait for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake to drop later in the year, fans of the series waiting to catch up can grab a digital copy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom during Prime Day for a pretty decently-sized discount.

Both digital and physical copies of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are available for Amazon Prime Day with a $20 discount, with the digital version coming in at $59.88.
This purchase contains a digital copy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as well as its Switch 2 upgrade which was released in 2025.
Obviously, this won’t work on Switch 1 devices, but the good news is that the original version of Tears of the Kingdom is also available for $49.94, a 29% savings.

Even if you play on Switch 2, you could always buy the Switch 1 version and then upgrade via the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack or by having an active Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass membership.
As far as we can tell, this is the biggest discount Tears of the Kingdom has received in years, with the game last receiving a reduced price during Black Friday 2024.

Considering the $80 launch price that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch 2 Edition released at, we’d say this is a pretty great bargain for what was one of 2023’s best games.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, taking place a number of years after the events of that game.

In it, you play as Link once again as he looks for a way to defeat Ganondorf and protect the kingdom of Hyrule.
Keeping the open world gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom introduces new gameplay mechanics and systems into the mix, including construction elements which allows Link to build vehicles or other constructs which can be used to solve puzzles, explore the world, or defeat enemies.
