The Super Mario Galaxy movie just revealed yet another member of the cast just days before the film’s cinematic debut.
Nintendo fans all around the world are counting down the days till 1 April, when The Super Mario Galaxy Movie lands in cinemas.
The stakes have never been higher, with Mario, Peach, Luigi and Toad blasting off into space to thwart another one of Bowser’s evil plans.
To overcome some new threats the team had to get bigger, and it seems like no character nor actor was off the table when it came to the film’s casting…

It was only two weeks ago that Donald Glover was announced as the voice of Yoshi, joining other new members of the cast like Brie Larson and Benny Safdie, who play Rosalina and Bowser Jr respectively.
Just when you thought the cast couldn’t get any bigger though it was announced earlier today that the legendary Fox McCloud will play a role in the film.
The star of Star Fox was first spotted during the last trailer for the film, where eagle-eyed viewers believed they could see his leg and blaster.
Turns out the fans were right to speculate as he will be joining Mario and friends on their quest to save the galaxy.
Freddie Gibbs has been cast as the voice of Fox. It’s unknown if other Star Fox characters like Falco and Slippy Toad will also be part of the fun.

While it’s incredibly exciting to see Fox in a Super Mario film this understandably has fans looking ahead to the future of Nintendo films.
Nintendo hasn’t outlined any plans for a cinematic universe going forward but Fox’s appearance in the Super Mario Galaxy movie has everyone wondering if a Super Smash Bros film is in the works.
A few more faces would need to join the fray in order to make it happen, like Samus Aran from Metroid, Kirby, and Link from The Legend of Zelda, but it could happen one day. The only thing acting against this idea is the upcoming Legend of Zelda film being live-action, making a potential crossover quite difficult to comprehend.
Never say never though, as while Fox's inclusion in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie may just be a fun Easter egg for fans to enjoy, it could very well be the start of something bigger, provided the film sees the same level of box-office success as the first one did.
