A new leak for Pokémon Winds and Waves has revealed a staggering number of Pokémon set to appear in the next generation debut.
Pokémon Generation 10 has seen several leaks over the past year or so, with many of these rumours pointing to updated gameplay features, new Pokémon appearances, and fresh settings.
Following the official reveal of Pokémon Winds and Waves earlier this year, fans of the franchise have been awaiting new information regarding what Pokémon will appear in the final release, aside from the starters that have already been announced.
Now, the latest report comes via Centro Leaks on X (formerly Twitter), who claims that there will be “around 300 new Pokémon / forms” in the upcoming game, which would make it the highest amount of new Pokémon in a single video game.

Centro Leaks also claims that “the new battle mechanic will introduce special weather forms for some Pokémon,” similar to Megas or Gigantamax.

Centro Leaks acknowledges that the claims sound “ridiculous”, and has addressed this by admitting they were “hesitant from posting this” as a result.
However, they then say “since this information came to light we have been able to independently verify with other sources and they have heard similar information about the high number of new Pokémon”.
So in any case, take these rumours with a big pinch of salt for now until Nintendo or The Pokémon Company reveals more information about the Pokédex total in Winds and Waves.

Pokémon Winds and Waves was announced with a trailer in February earlier this year. They will be the first Pokémon games for Generation 10, and introduce three new starter Pokémon: Browt (Grass-type), Pombon (Fire-type), and Gecqua (Water-type).
Both of the new titles will feature a tropical archipelago for you to explore inspired by regions in Southeast Asia, with a mix of islands and underwater areas to access.
The Pokémon that live in this region have developed their own unique ecosystems, so we imagine that the different types of Pokémon you can encounter will be more diverse compared to previous entries in terms of their abilities and stats.
The games will also introduce two new variants of Pikachu, called Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu. These versions of the iconic Pokémon mascot feature a more orange skin tone complexion, as well as tropical clothing to fit in with the games’ island settings.
Pokémon Winds and Waves are currently scheduled to be released in 2027, though a more specific release date has not yet been announced by Nintendo. We imagine that we may hear more at Pokémon Presents next February, or in a Nintendo Direct at some point next year.
The games will also be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, making it the first main series Pokémon games to release exclusively on the new-gen platform. The only other Pokémon game exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 is the spin-off Pokémon Pokopia, which came out back in March.
