Pokémon fans are hyped over leaked details that suggest a new multiplayer game is on the way.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A was announced about this time last year and despite that reveal featuring nothing other than a cinematic trailer, it was enough to get fans on board.

It’s almost a given that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be released on the original Nintendo Switch but many fans will also be hoping that it launches on its upcoming successor. Only time will tell.

However, could we see more than just Pokémon Legends: Z-A released this year? According to an apparent leak, that could be the case as discussed by gamers on Reddit.

“Pyoro hints at the tera-leaked Project Synapse being announced in Pokémon Presents,” wrote Redditor TheRealPdGaming, kicking off the discussion on the thread. For reference, Pyoro is a well-known leaker in the Pokémon community.

“For those not in the know, the Tera Leak showed us code names for Pokémon games and one of the ones that was found was Project Synapse,” TheRealPdGaming continued. “So we might be getting an announcement for this multiplayer-focused Pokémon game in the upcoming Pokémon Presents.”

“Pokémon hero shooter, let’s go,” replied an optimistic and sarcastic littlebiped.

“Pokémon MMO (huge, insane hopium),” said RinRinDoof.

“For those unaware, this is indeed Pyoro. Previously leaked both Warriors: Abyss and Shinobi: Art of Vengeance at the recent State of Play,” reveals PikaPhantom.

As with all unconfirmed rumours, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more either way when the Pokémon Presents event takes place this Thursday 27 February. We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything of interest from the streamed event.

We’ll also have our fingers crossed, at the very least, that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title. A Nintendo Direct event dedicated to the Nintendo Switch 2 will take place on Wednesday 2 April 2025.
