This year has already delivered quite a number of GOTY contenders, with 007 First Light, Resident Evil Requiem, and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight all worthy contenders.
Of course, whether they’ll be able to blockade GTA VI, the presumed frontrunner, remains to be seen.
It was actually Pokémon Pokopia that proved to be the year’s first real likely nominee though, achieving a score of 89 on Metacritic.
This cosy spin-off sees players restore habitats in the hopes of luring back ‘mon in a post-apocalyptic version of Earth that’s absent of humans.

If you’re yet to try out this cosy hit, you’re in luck as a brand new bundle is coming to the European market.
The ever-reliable billbil-kun took to Dealabs to reveal that a Pokémon Pokopia and Nintendo Switch 2 bundle is launching in Europe next month, so June.

It follows in the footsteps of a similar bundle which previously was announced for Australia and New Zealand, although this version does feature a slight difference.
The bundle is due to feature a download code for Pokémon Pokopia alongside the Switch 2 console as true physical copies for Pokopia still don’t exist.
It’s down to retail for €509 with the European version featuring a Ditto on the left side of the packaging.
This wasn’t present on the aforementioned Australia and New Zealand version, but it doesn’t exactly make a huge difference.
The price point of €509 will remain valid until 1 September when Nintendo’s previously announced price hike is due to come into effect.
We don’t know yet how this will affect specific bundle options.
A single console is due to increase from $449.99 to $499.99 in US dollars, with similar comparable hikes around the world.
Dealabs’ report does add that they expect French retailers to run deals on the Pokémon Pokopia bundle “with deals starting from €454.90”.
It’s believed that Pokémon Pokopia could double in size in the coming years with a vast number of DLC having previously surfaced in a leak.
The first DLC drop is supposedly coming in Q1 of 2027, although it’s not known what this will include.
Five extra lands have so far leaked:
These are definitely new areas as existing regions were referred to as the Fuschia area, Vermillion area, Pewter area, and Saffron area.
Over 100 new ‘mon are reportedly set to be added, but it’s very likely new ‘mon and new regions will be rolled out in batches for many years to come.
