Pokémon: Legends Z-A Mega Evolutions leak hasn't convinced fans

There's just four months to go until fans finally get their hands on Pokémon Legends: Z-A but a recent tease on social media has left potential players with a bitter taste in their mouths.

Set to release on 16 October 2025, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the next big instalment in the much-loved Pokémon franchise.

Releasing on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2, this new release will be a part of the ninth generation of Pokémon games and will take place within Lumiose City based on Paris, France.

Ahead of its launch, some social media posts have begun circulating with one giving players their first glimpse at a Mega Evolution.

Mega Evolutions are set to return in Pokémon Legends: Z-A which will allow certain Pokémon to gain extra, albeit temporary, evolution stages alongside some powerful perks.

This feature was first introduced in Pokémon X and Y and the majority of fans are happy to see it return.

However, our first glimpse at a Mega Evolution has not gone down well as some fans believe that AI may have been used to produce the image.

Shared on the Centro Leaks Twitter account, we can see an image of a Mega Dragalge.

Although fans were initially excited to see an example of a Mega Evolution, excitement soon turned to scrutiny as some began noticing that the image may have been created using AI.

“This looks totally AI generated, I don’t think this is a real leak,” one user commented.

With some fans unhappy about the suspected AI, others were more annoyed at being spoiled over a potential evolution so it is safe to say that this leak was not received well.

Of course, this leaked image may not be credible so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.

If it is real, however, let us hope that AI was not used to create it or Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be facing problems before it has even been released.
