Pokémon Gen 10 leaks, and it sounds absolutely massive

The most expansive Gen so far?

The next Pokémon generation will likely be the biggest yet, with the leaks that have been doing the rounds making it sound wild.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A launches later this year for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 but I think it’s easy to forget that it’s not exactly a mainline Pokémon game, technically it’s a spin-off.

It looks pretty good so far, but it’ll definitely be better on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Pokémon Gen 10 remains to be seen, but rest-assured it is coming and it will be huge especially if the “leaks” are to be believed.

Rumour has it the next two games are titled Pokémon Tides & Gales, with the new open-world being set across multiple islands.

Sounds a bit like The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker, with the player having to hop between them as the story progresses, likely with new Pokémon on each one.

The rumours also claim the starter Pokémon will feature a “Fire Goat, Water Octopus & Grass Snail” with “Gigaxis” being the main gimmick of the games. These are apparently island guardians perhaps a bit like the Guardian Deities in Pokémon Sun & Moon.

Finally, the rumours claim one of the new regional variants will be a Ground-type Charmander, which sounds very cute.

Obviously, we need to take this with a pinch of salt, and personally, I think it’s just wishful thinking or clout-chasing.

It sounds too similar to Pokémon Sun & Moon in terms of the setting and gimmick, and I think it’s far more likely we’ll get a real-world location adapted into Pokémon again rather than something distinct.

Either way, it’s probably too early to be thinking about the next Pokémon game anyway, as we need to get a proper look at Pokémon Legends: Z-A first, especially the supposed superior Nintendo Switch 2 version…
