We hope you've packed your swimming costume because Nintendo is taking us on an early summer vacation with its next release. Back when the Nintendo Wii had a chokehold on us all, we were grabbing our nunchucks and boasting about how healthy we were after having a quick game of bowling. The legacy of Wii Sports lived on through Wii Sports Resort and then Wii Sports Club as a remake of the original, although we had to wait nearly a decade for Nintendo Switch Sports to arrive on the Nintendo Switch.
We're set to practice our tennis swing with Nintendo Switch Sports Resort in October 2026, but to get us ready, Nintendo is dropping a sports-themed freebie that's full of nostalgia.
Next stop this summer: a relaxing stay at Wii Sports Resort!

Although we're more than ready to jet off to Wuhu Island for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, Nintendo Music is getting us in the mood with the Wii Sports Resort soundtrack.
Promising 99 tracks and a runtime of 1 hour and 37 minutes, all those melodic classics are destined to overtake our gaming music libraries. While admittedly not as iconic as something like Ocarina of Time's "Saria's Song" or having the viral appeal of Super Mario 64's "File Select" being used on every TikTok in 2026, we’ll take what we can get.

We're sure you'll be immediately transported back to 2009 with memories of going for gold with power cruising, swordplay, and dogfighting. Remembering that Wii Sports Resort was the third-best-selling game on the Wii (coming behind its predecessor and Mario Kart Wii), many of us listened to these earworms without even realising.

The Nintendo Music catalogue continues to grow following its arrival on Android and iOS in October 2024. A web version was introduced on June 1, 2026, meaning there are a number of ways we can listen to our favourite gaming tracks.
We've come a long way from soundtracks only being available on CDs in Japan or via special game releases, although some still grumble that you need an active Switch Online subscription to listen. Still, with recent releases including Pikmin and Mario Kart World, it continues to grow into an impressive playlist to relax to or get ready for an epic gaming session. We can see your tactics, Nintendo, and like Star Fox was added to cue up the upcoming Star Fox remake coming later in June, the Wii Sports Resort soundtrack is well-timed for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort's imminent arrival.
