Nintendo drops fresh wave of Switch freebies you can download now

Get those fresh treats while they last

Nintendo has just dropped a new batch of Switch freebies available to download right now.

Much of the attention for Nintendo has been focused on its new The Legend of Zelda game, and rightly so. After all, we’re finally getting Zelda as a playable character; it’s like a dream come true.

Still, while this is thrilling news for fans, there are more accessible newcomers available for Nintendo Switch users. And no, we don’t mean the four surprise games that were recently announced.

Speaking of Nintendo Switch fun, have you seen the Mario & Luigi: Brothership announcement?

This fresh selection of free downloads might not be of interest to everyone, but those of you who want to show your love for a certain inky franchise will be able to do so.

As shared on Twitter account ឵឵NSO Icons Alerts, a new wave of Nintendo Switch Online icons has arrived, all of which are dedicated to Splatoon 3.

Here at GAMINGbible, the team is very fond of this series, with our review of Splatoon 3: Side Order describing the expansion as “inktastic”. Consequently, we’re delighted to have the chance to show off our favourite characters on our profiles.

Yet, not all Nintendo owners are pleased with the selection.

“Nintendo should do Skyward Sword HD icons instead of recycling Splatoon 3 waves for the 10th time me thinks,” commented Twitter user @offbrandthoosie.

As if that wasn’t cutting enough, another gamer said there was “nothing good” about what’s on offer. Sorry, but we disagree.

The new round of icons won’t stay around forever, so you’d best get moving to ensure you’re able to show off your favourites with pride.

Should that not interest you, you have until 26 June to play a brutal RPG for free; you know, just in case you’re not stressed enough by the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC on your other consoles.

Make the most of those Splatoon free downloads while you still can, Inklings!
