Nintendo Switch drops new wave of freebies you can claim now

Grab these quick before they're gone forever!

A brand new wave of freebies has just hit the Nintendo Switch, but you had better hurry up and snag them now before you lose the chance to grab them permanently.

It’s that time of the month again, because a whole bunch of fresh Nintendo Switch Online Icons just landed on the Nintendo Switch, and we’re getting treated to some icons based on an underappreciated Nintendo franchise this time around.

Unfortunately, this does mean that you’ve missed the boat on the last lot of Nintendo Switch Online Icons… potentially forever.

Hope you aren’t a Super Mario fan, because NSO Icons rarely pop back up once they make their rounds, so the chances of those Icons popping up again are very, very low.

That’s why I suggest hopping on this batch of NSO Icons ASAP in case the fear of missing out strikes you in a few months down the line. It might even be more accurate to say you should race to grab them.

Hahaha, get it? Oh, wait, I haven’t told you what the Icons are so that joke doesn’t make any sense yet.

Who's excited for the Nintendo Switch 2?

This month, the NSO Icons you can grab this month are based on F-ZERO 99. See? Hilarious. Totally worth the wait.

These will probably only stick around for another couple of weeks, or up until the tail end of May at the absolute latest, so boot up your nearest Nintendo Switch and snag these immediately if you’re an F-Zero fan.

As a reminder, you will need to use Nintendo's free points system, Platinum Points, to nab these for 10 points each. Points are acquired for free via completing easy tasks via the MyNintendo page.

Still no word on whether or not NSO Icons will make their way over to the Nintendo Switch 2 yet, but I’m still holding out hope that’s the case.

Some folks have been collecting every single one of these since the Nintendo Switch first dropped, so I’d be incredibly annoyed if I’d been doing the same and they don’t end up being attached to your Switch 2 profile.
