CD Projekt RED has just announced that the latest version of Cyberpunk 2077 is already available to buy, way ahead of its release date.

As revealed on the official @CyberpunkGame Twitter account, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077 is ready to pre-order, ahead of its 5 June release later this year.

“Chooms, it’s Night City in the palm of your hand,” CD Projekt RED revealed.

“Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 is available to preorder now!”

This announcement also lines up with recent comments made by CD Projekt RED’s vice president Charles Tremblay, who stated that he believes it’s “the best way” to play Cyberpunk 2077 on a handheld.

“It’s still the same amazing experience, and I think the returning players will feel right at home,” Tremblay revealed (per Video Games Chronicle).

“That being said, we do have a lot of ways to experience the game using the controllers. We have the new amazing LCD screens with the VRR support, and I do think it’s the best way to experience the game on the go.”

Honestly, the more I see and hear about the Nintendo Switch 2 port of Cyberpunk 2077, the more impressed I am by the system.

CD Projekt RED have already stated that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game far outperforms the PS4 and Xbox One ports, even after they’ve been patched (following the game’s disastrous launch).

While a lot of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 titles do look impressive, the footage of Cyberpunk 2077 running on the system when it’s not docked really does give me the best impression of how capable the system is.

Nintendo really should thank CD Projekt RED for their tireless work on the port, because I’m sure it’s convinced thousands of us that it has the level of power we hoped for.
