Cyberpunk 2077 new release announced, but fans are torn on pricing

It's a bit much

Cyberpunk 2077 fans are being treated to a new line of releases, but the prices are a tad outrageous.

While we’re a long way off the next Cyberpunk game, the CD Projekt RED IP remains relevant through a dedicated community and the occasional surprise release.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was one of those releases, and if you loved that series you’ll love what’s coming next.

InsertCoin has launched a new line of clothing inspired by the visuals and characters of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, a fantastic series that really deserves a second season or spin-off.

“It's your time to rock the streets in David Martinez's style or earn some serious street cred representing Lucy and Rebecca,” read the announcement tweet.

You can treat yourself to some t-shirts based on Lucy and Rebecca, and a jacket modelled after the one David wears in the series.

They look great, and I’m sure the David fans out there would get a kick out of wearing his actual jacket, but there’s a slight caveat; it’ll cost you an arm and a leg.

“$160 for a jacket? No thanks, looks cool but I’m not paying that for a jacket,” read one of the comments.

The jacket itself is apparently of a high quality though, so it’ll likely have value for money and would be a cool collector’s item.

Personally, I’m a much bigger fan of the Johnny Silverhand jacket from InsertCoin, but I don’t know whether that’s because I like the design more or prefer Johnny to David as a character…

Anyway, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners clothing line is available for preorder right now, with shipping starting in either late June or early July.

If you’re a fan of Cyberpunk 2077/Cyberpunk Edgerunners and have a particular fondness for the outfits and style seen in that world, this might be a range for you regardless of the price.
