We know that the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is in development but other than that, details remain scarce which is unsurprising considering the project is still in its early stages.

However, with rumours circulating that hint at the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel potentially featuring multiplayer, it seems as though this option would be greatly appreciated indeed.

First, let us rewind a bit.

Check out the Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen update launch trailer below!

Cyberpunk 2077 was launched back in 2020 but due to multiple glitches, bugs and performance issues, the CD Projekt RED RPG was considered unplayable for thousands and was even removed from multiple online storefronts not long after.

However, thanks to the tireless dedication of its development team who regularly releases updates, patches and eventually even its Phantom Liberty DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 is now regarded as one of the best RPGs of all time.

So it is no wonder that fans all over the world are excited for its sequel, especially with the recent rumour that has been linked to it.

According to multiple insiders, the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel could feature a multiplayer mode which could see players team up with friends to explore Night City (or wherever it is that we end up).

A discussion about this potential feature recently took place over on r/cyberpunkgame and it seems as though fans are mainly excited about the concept, if a few rules are put in place.

"MMO-style would be horrific,” user dragonseth07 wrote. “But, actual co-op? Now we're talking. Let me do gigs as a Netrunner and getaway driver for my wife running in with a katana, and that's a good time. It's why Skyrim Together had so much hype for it, despite ESO existing. I don't want an MMO. I want a fun action-y RPG experience with a co-op partner.”

“This. This is what Cyberpunk is missing,” a fellow user replied.

At the time of writing, multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2 has not yet been confirmed but it seems as though, if done right, it is a feature that many fans would be on board with.
