Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush has officially been announced, and it’s launching this year.
Yes, a new game set within CD Projekt RED’s acclaimed Cyberpunk 2077 universe is on the way, albeit with an interesting caveat.
Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush is an upcoming arcade combat racer that, unfortunately for some, is set to be available in arcades only.
That shouldn’t dull your hype though because who doesn’t want to sit atop an imitation full-size motorcycle and cruise through the streets of Night City.

Created by UNISGames, Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush is officially licensed and was recently unveiled at Amusement Expo International in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Chrome Rush Features 8 Playable Characters and 4 Tracks
It, as mentioned, sees players sit atop a full-size motorcycle controller which uses motion controls.
Players of Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush will select from seven playable characters and that includes both the male and female versions of the base game’s lead protagonist V.
In a gameplay video, the characters Vixen, Reaver, Rico, Tex, and Rebel were detailed as the other playable runners.
Beyond that, details on Chrome Rush are a little thin, but we do know that players can select from eight different motorcycle variants.
There are four high-speed tracks on offer and Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush doesn’t simply offer a straight forward race; players will also engage in vehicular combat.
It’s not unlike Mario Kart as players will need to keep an eye on their rivals, unleashing attacks if they get too close or pose a threat to their standing.
You can make use of handguns, rockets, and katanas - all of which should be familiar to fans of that base Cyberpunk 2077 game.
Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush is set up so that two players can play at once, so you can race alongside your best friends.
The game is played upon a 65-inch 4K display so players will get to experience the crisp, clean visuals you’ve come to expect from CD Projekt RED’s futuristic franchise.
When it comes to the tracks, there’s Corporate Plaza, North Oak, and Badlands. The final option doesn’t appear to have been detailed.
As you might expect, there’s a Nitro Boost function you can make use of from time to time.
All in all, Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush looks truly fantastic and something all Cyberpunk 2077 players will likely want to try.
As reported by Primetime Amusements, it’s expected that early versions of Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush will begin shipping to arcades in April so hopefully, there’s a suitable establishment near you.
The gameplay displayed, however, is so impressive that this would surely also prove a major hit on console. Let’s hope the day comes where that may become a reality.
