Nintendo Switch free download lets you check out one of 2023's best games

One of the Nintendo Switch’s latest freebies is a quick-look at one of the best games ever made, and one you shouldn’t sleep on by any means.

Right now with your Nintendo Switch you can play Chapter 1 of Dredge for free, and I promise you you’ll never regret it.

Without spoiling too much, Dredge is a game where you’re the captain of a trawl boat in a mysterious part of the sea, with what appears to be a normal village in need of fish to feed them, which is where you come in.

Of course it’s not that simple, and you very quickly find yourself at the heart of an ancient mystery that has dire consequences on the rest of the world if you make the wrong choices.

You’ll explore the sea, upgrade your ship, catch a wide variety of fish as well as helping out any of the locals you come across, and if you finish the game and still want more, you can always check out the DLC, with another expansion coming later this year.

GAMINGbible praised the game in its review, praising the way “it uses its core loop to get to the heart of the twisted story while forcing you ever further out of your comfort zone to make new discoveries.”

I lost an entire weekend to this game when I played it on a whim on the Xbox Series X/S, thinking it’d just be another quick game to write off my backlog, but my oh my was I wrong.
