Nintendo Switch 2 owners in the US are being urged to claim compensation due to issues that occurred on launch day.

The US retailer Target has good news for those Nintendo Switch 2 players who were left disappointed on launch day, when their consoles didn’t arrive.

The launch of the new console was one of the most anticipated days of the year for gamers, with millions waiting eagerly to get their hands on the new Nintendo hardware.

However, release day arrived, and many customers were left watching the street for their delivery only to find out that it wouldn’t arrive on time, and would be late.

Because of this issue, Target is contacting customers impacted by the late arrival with a sincere apology and a gift.

Reported on Twitter, users will need to redeem the apology gift after receiving the email, using Target Circle to claim a $50 eShop gift card for free.

Instructions are included in a follow-up tweet, guiding you to head over to the Target website where you can sign in via Target Circle, then add the gift card to your shopping basket.

You must be logged in to the account you used to purchase the Nintendo Switch 2, and the $50 eShop gift card will be reduced to $0 at the checkout.

Once you have your gift card number, you can redeem it on the Nintendo eShop to spend the funds on a new game.

That’s a pretty decent apology, in my opinion, especially when so many other retailers would simply say sorry and not follow through on any compensation.

Clearly, Target knows just how important this was to many Nintendo fans and wanted to do the right thing.

Fans are already reporting that they’ve received the email, and the gift card, so if you were affected, check your correspondence to see if you have the apology gift waiting.
