The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is widely regarded as one of the best video games of all time so it is no wonder that fans are eager to see an official remake.
First released way back in 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 and marked the first The Legend of Zelda game to showcase 3D graphics.
Since the Nintendo franchise first kicked off back in 1986, there have been around 21 entries - both mainline and spin-off - but Ocarina of Time is still regarded as the best according to its dedicated fanbase.
Despite the 1998 title receiving an enhanced version for the Nintendo 3DS, titled The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, back in 2011, it has still yet to receive an official remake.

However, with Nintendo not giving its fans what they want, it has been left to its dedicated fanbase to take matters into their own hands.
That is certainly what Digital Dreams has done over on their Youtube channel after recently posting footage of what Ocarina of Time could look like in 2025.
Made using Unreal Engine 5 and with the RTX 5090, we can now see an unofficial Ocarina of Time but it seems as though the gameplay footage has left fans feeling divided.
“The motion blur and high FOV make this feel cheap,” the top comment reads.

“Great concept and hard work but the vibes of the original are not there at all,” another user added.
However, for others, the unofficial remake made them feel hopeful for the future of the franchise.
“I am glad I was able to watch it before Nintendo take it down!” One comment read.
“Wow”, another fan said simply.

It remains to be seen if Nintendo will work on an official The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake but if it does, it seems that they will have a lot to live up to to capture the magic of the original.
