First released way back in 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is widely regarded as one of the best video games of all time so it is no wonder that this 4K remake has captured everybody’s heart.

If you ask a Zelda fan their favourite The Legend of Zelda title, they will more than likely say Ocarina of Time, even though it has been almost 30-years since it was first released on the Nintendo 64.

Despite receiving an enhanced version for the 3DS back in 2011, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is still yet to receive an official 4K remake and it is something that Nintendo fans have been calling out for for the past decade.

Although it seems as though the pleas are going unheard, one YouTube creator has found a way to experience Ocarina of Time in 4K… albeit unofficially.

In a short video posted to their YouTube page, PunchBro shared how they managed to achieve this feat which shows us Ocarina of Time clearer than we have ever seen it before.

“This is how I play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for 3DS in 4K,” the video begins before PunchBro goes on to explain how viewers can also achieve this as well as showing some comparison images from the original 3DS release.

The creator explains that he is playing the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time using the Cinta emulator on PC.

They then got to work on changing some settings which included upscaling the internal resolution to 4K as well as applying a HD texture pack “to bring out the details in the environment”.

Last but not least, PunchBro details how they attached their phone to an Xbox Series controller in order to give themselves a second screen. And that’s it.

As you can imagine, this video soon garnered some attention and Zelda fans were quick to share their thoughts.

“Looks how my brain thought it looked back on the 3DS,” one fan admitted.

“The saddest part is Nintendo should have something like this at the Switch 2 launch," another comment read.

With The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time being a prime example of childhood nostalgia when it comes to video games, it is no wonder that fans are eager to see it in all of its modern-day glory and luckily, PunchBro has shared a way to achieve just that.
