The Nintendo Switch 2 has some excellent freebies available now, many of which were shown off during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase yesterday.
Some decent stuff was shown off but a lot of it was overshadowed by the lack of games like The Duskbloods and Elden Ring.
Nevermind though, below are some of the freebies that headlined the showcase as well as some we just think you should try if you haven’t already.
Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Highlights
Reanimal: First on our list is one I’m very excited to play, Reanimal. From the creators of Little Nightmares comes another horror game where you play as a child in a fight for survival. After the disappointment of Little Nightmares 3 I’m looking forward to this one.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection: This one for whatever reason really stood out to me yesterday, as it felt like the perfect blend of Monster Hunter and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

We wrote about this one earlier this week and explained why you should care about it, especially if you like Pokémon.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth: We all knew this one was coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 eventually but it was still cool to see it announced during yesterday’s direct.
I’ve adored these remakes so far and while it does feel like they’re artificially extending the story a tad I’m still excited for the next entry.

Other Nintendo Switch Freebies You Can’t Miss
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity: You can’t have a Nintendo list and not have some Zelda representation on it so why not try the latest Hyrule Warriors game?
While Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is objectively better I think I prefer this one, don’t ask me why.
Resident Evil 6: This is purely here because if you buy it outright you’ll probably regret it! I’m kidding, it’s not that bad but it is the weakest of the mainline Resident Evil games by a longshot.
Still though with Resident Evil: Requiem coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this month you’ll want to brush up on the story so far.
Metroid Dread: As someone who was very disappointed in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond I’ve discovered a newfound sense of comfort with this game.
It has that classic feel while still bringing mechanics that are both new and interesting to the table, something Prime 4 unfortunately failed at.
Miitopia: While it won’t give you the same experience this is a decent one to play while you’re waiting for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.
You can make your own Miis and send them on a silly RPG adventure, what more do you need?

Princes Peach: Showtime!: It feels like this one flew under many gamer’s radars but you need to give it a go if you haven’t already.
Princess Peach was long overdue for a new spin-off game when this came out and I hope she gets many more in the future.
Dredge: If you like spooky mystery games I implore you to play Dredge. Not only is it gorgeous atmospheric it’s also got engaging gameplay and some decent DLC to extend your voyage, give it a go!
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties: Last but certainly not least we have Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties which launches later this month.
I’ve adored the Yakuza series for a while now and I can’t wait to play this one when it’s out, and if this is your first one fear not as it’ll give you a brief overview of the story so far.
